Q: Are Chesters products available from stock?

Our products are not generally kept in stock but made to order on receipt of customersí individual preferences and requirements. However, we do offer a number of products for immediate delivery on occasion, including stock clearance models.

Q: Will the seats sag with time?
Chesterís uses heavy-duty elastics and composite springs for suspension, and high resilience foams for seat cushions which stay firm for years.

Q: What materials are used in the cushion fillings?
Filled seat cushions are generally foam-filled, while back cushions are fibre-filled. However, changes can be made to suit individual requirements.

Q: What type of suspension is used?
Suspension is made of either steel spring or heavy-duty elastics. The fabric sofas have elastics and some traditional leather sofas have either coiled or sinuous springs. All suspensions are designed for support, comfort & long life.

Old Furniture:

Q: Can you take away my old furniture or sell it for me? And is part exchange available?
Unfortunately, we do not offer these as part of our services.

Q: Do you have repair or re-upholster old sofa sets?
Yes, we do offer repair and restoration services.


Q: Is the leather real?
Absolutely. All leathers used by Chesterís are 100% real be it sheepskin, cowhide or buffhide.

Q: Is the upholstery fire retardant?
Yes, we can provide fire retardant CMHR foam confirming to BS5852 (Source 5 Code) on special request at extra cost.

Q: What is the average life expectancy of leather?
Real leather furniture wears very well and will generally last several years. However, as with all furniture, the overall care taken and maintenance ultimately determines its life expectancy.

Payment & Delivery:

Q: What Payment methods are available?
We accept only cash, cheques and online transfers.

Q: Can I have my deposits/advance back if I change my mind?
Unfortunately NO, as our items are generally made to order. To offer this facility would undoubtedly result in higher costs and thus higher prices to our customers.

Q: How long will it take for my furniture to be delivered?
Normal delivery time is between 6 - 8 weeks.

Q: Why do I have to wait for delivery?
Our vast range makes it almost impossible to stock every option in every colour at all times.

Q: Is nationwide delivery available?
Yes, we deliver door to door to most locations in India.

Q: How much is the delivery cost?
Approximately 5% of the value.

Q: Is weekend or evening delivery available?
Yes, this can be arranged.

Q: Do you deliver overseas?
Yes we do. The goods are delivered in export-worthy packaging to the seaport or airport nearest to destination. Door delivery can be arranged at additional cost. Estimates available on request.

Q: Does it cost extra for overseas delivery?
Yes, we can provide estimate on request

Q: How is payment made for overseas delivery?
A 100% advance payment is required which, can be made via international pay order, electronic transfer or credit card.

Q: Can I collect the furniture myself?
Yes you can, but only from our factory at Bangalore, India.

Peace Of mind:

Q: What guarantee do you give?
We offer a 24-month manufacturerís guarantee for leather upholstered seat and a 12-month guarantee for fabric upholstered seat against any manufacturing defect.

Q: Can an item be exchanged after delivery?
Yes, only if found defective (This does not affect your statutory rights).

Q: Can I have a colour swatch/ quality swatch or hard copies of styles available?
Yes, these are available for a majority of our products. Please use our contact facility online or call us.


Q: How do you clean leather furniture or fabric sofas?
Please refer to the section under Chesterís care.

Q: Do I need to protect leather from the light?
All furniture should be kept away from direct sunlight to avoid premature aging, discolouration and dryness over time.

Q: Can pets damage leather seats?
To some extent, yes. Sharp claws can scratch the leather and animals may stain the surface. However, real leather is extremely hardworking and so the damage would be less severe than with other woven materials.

Q: Do you have dealers?
No, we retail directly from our showrooms and office located in Bangalore, India.

Q: Do you have more designs other than what is shown in website?
Some designs have been showcased on the website but we are able to create other, new designs, which can be done on request.

Q: What happens if the furniture is delivered in a damaged condition?
You can ask the transporter to take back the goods. Chesterís will replace the same with a new piece within the shortest possible time.

Q: Can Chesterís make furniture to my design & specifications?
Yes, in most cases. Please feel free to send us your design and we shall give you an estimate.

Q: Does Chesterís supply upholstery fabrics?
No, our customers bring in their own fabric. We provide detailed fabric requirements and prices for fabric sofas but this does not include the cost of the fabric.

Q: What after sales service does Chesterís provide?
Beyond the warranty period, we provide our customers with priority service at all times and at very reasonable charges.
